Digitec follows stringent technical security features to ensure that client and patient data and information is transferred and used with utmost security, ensuring client and patient privacy, and patient’s right to PHI (protected health information). This ultimately protects confidential data from external intruders or unauthorized personnel either through the internet itself or within the office premises. Digitec’s efficient security policies ensure only the right people have access to certain data, where access is granted based on their designation or work profile. All security procedures are HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act) compliant.

Following are few of the various security features we currently put into practice:

  • Up-to-date Operating Systems: Regularly updating the operating system on individual computers ensures protection against malicious online activity. It is also critical to the security and reliability of each computer.
  • Active Firewalls: The use of active firewalls protects the internal network from hackers or illegal entrants, who might put confidential data at risk.
  • Updated Antivirus: Regularly updated antivirus software protects data from virus attacks, spyware, and other malicious software.
  • Security of FTP Sites: All FTP sites’ login, usernames and passwords, encryption and folder access are recorded duly to ensure only individuals authorized to access each FTP site are granted access and not otherwise.
  • Authenticated Network Logins: Each individual system checks for the correct username and password in order to access data and use network resources.
